Departure from Lisbon. First stop is at the magnificent gardens of Budha Eden, the largest oriental garden in Europe, where you can see, among other things, Buddhas statues, pagodas, terracotta statues and various sculptures carefully placed among the vegetation and in perfect harmony with the landscape, transporting you to Ming’s Dynasty period in China. At the end of the visit you can enjoy the best wines produced by Quinta da Bacalhôa (from Setúbal Peninsula).

After these tours you can enjoy a delicious lunch at Solar dos Amigos , a typical and cozy spot related to the equestrian activity with well cooked and genuine Portuguese food. We have the chance to talk to Dona Luísa, the owner of the restaurant, who has been working there since the age of 13, guaranteeing its professionalism and friendliness welcome.

After lunch, we drive through the Bay of São Martinho do Porto, following the famous Atlantic road that offers magnificent views of the ocean and passing through Foz do Arelho, a wonderful beach where Lagoa de Óbidos (a coastal lagoon) flows into the ocean.

Following the road that leads to the lagoon, we arrive at Óbidos and its castle, a place that needs no introduction, as it is the most beautiful and well preserved medieval village in Europe, where you can wander through its narrow roads, appreciating local commerce and craftsmen and with a bit of luck even taste freshly baked bread in a wood fired oven. To wrap it up, it is mandatory to taste one (or more…) famous Ginjinha de Óbidos, an exceptional cherry liquor that has won dozens of international awards over the years.
