Before you start Meet with your local guide, at your accommodation (Lisbon and surroundings) and he is going to give you all the information you need and go with you to the rental office. You are going to leave Lisbon with a rental car, a cellphone with a portuguese number to call us in case you need and the route to take in the GPS.
Starting the adventure!
Day 1 (+) Heading south passing 25th April bridge, go direct to Azeitão (wine region), Arrábida Natural park and Setúbal fishing city. Setúbal offers high quality seafood. Accommodation: Moinho da Asneira *** or similar Overview (-)
Continuing the trip towards Porto Covo, and its beautiful beaches. We also have a hidden gem fluvial beach for you to visit around the area.
End the day at Vila Nova de Mil Fontes and just relax…
Day 2 (+) After exploring Vila Nova you continue driving the coast of Portugal towards Almograve, where we strongly advise you to do a walking tour that belongs to the Vicentine Route. Accommodation: Barranco da Fonte, Chabouco (dinner upon request) or similar Overview (-)
Pass through Sardão Cape and reach Odeceixe and its stunning beach. Continue south to Aljezur, where you can visit the castle and old neighborhood, don’t miss Arrifana beach also, specially at sunset. Follow to your accommodation where you can enjoy at the pool and jacuzzi.
Day 3 (+) Start the day with a walking trail at Pontal da Carrapateira, after passing Bordeira beach. Accommodation – Mareta View, Boutique Bed and Breakfast or similar Overview (-)
Continue your road trip heading south to Pedralva village, pass through Vila de Bispo and end the day at Sagres, the southwest extreme of Portugal. Don’t miss the sunset at Saint Vicente Lighthouse. Enjoy the surf and lazy environment at Sagres village.
Day 4 (+) Leave Sagres towards Lagos, explore the cliffs and sights at Ponta da Piedade (boat ride at Benagil Cave available upon request), relax at Dona Ana and Camilo beach and explore the center and Marina of Lagos. Last but not least head towards Silves, one of the historical cities of Algarve, where you can feel the moorish influence of the period between the (8th and 13th) century. Now it’s time to return to Lisbon and it is the end of this Portugal self guided tour, from Silves by the highway (A2) you have a 3 hour drive back to the capital. Overview (-)
